With the 2010 Olympics just around the corner, you would expect to find our Canadian Olympic skiers popping up on British Columbia slopes. But in the ski resort of Sun Peaks near Kamloops, B.C. there's another team that's hitting the powder.

For the last five years, the Austrian and Russian ski teams have been coming to the resort of Sun Peaks to take advantage of the region's wintry conditions.

People familiar with the situation say they feel at home in the European style village and don't have to worry about being bothered by paparazzi. They get exclusive use of the resort facilities during the time that they are there.

With snow expected this weekend, Sun Peaks should open by Sunday; right about the time the European invasion ends here and moves to Lake Louise, Alberta for the start of the World Cup season.
