'Very concerned': Crews search B.C. ski resort for missing man
Police and rescue crews are searching for a man who was last seen boarding a ski lift at B.C.'s Sun Peaks Resort Tuesday.
Tomasz Jaholkowski, 68, was reported missing to the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment on Wednesday, according to authorities, who say he checked into a ski run at the Kamloops-area resort at 11:35 a.m. the day before.
“Mr. Jaholkowski does not appear to have returned to his hotel room, nor has he been heard from since checking into the run on Tuesday,” spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release Thursday.
“We are very concerned for his well-being and are asking anyone who may have seen him or has information on his potential whereabouts, to please contact police as soon as possible.”
Police, search and rescue volunteers, and members of the resort's ski patrol are conducting a ground search with support of helicopters and drones.
Anyone with information about Jaholkowski's whereabouts is urged to call police at 250-314-1800.
