Want a little canine with your cappuccino?

On Friday, the BC SPCA is hosting a one-day only "Pup up café" that lets potential adopters mingle with dogs in need of a forever home.

Although Vancouver's cat café, Catfé, has been open since December 2015, this is the first time the animal welfare agency has mixed coffee with canines.

For a $10 donation, people can spend time with adoptable puppies and dogs and chat with BC SPCA staff about the adoption process.

Even if you're not looking to adopt, Tess Repenning says it's a great opportunity to cuddle with some "four-legged furballs" on your lunch break.

“You’ll get your caffeine fix and canine love, all while supporting a fantastic cause," she said in a statement.

The pups are being provided by shelters in Vancouver, Burnaby and West Vancouver. Many have come to the Lower Mainland through the BC SPCA's Drives for Lives program, which transfers in adoptable animals from rural areas that face pet overpopulation.

Cups & Pups is being held at TAXI Café (515 Richards St.) from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Coffee is available by donation. You need to arrive at 10:30 a.m. at the cafe in person to register for a 20-minute timeslot.
