The husband of deceased Taco del Mar owner Manjeet Nandha told CTV News on Tuesday he doesn't have a nephew who could be the West Broadway bomb suspect.

"I have no nephew in Canada," Harjit Nandha said. "All (my wife's) nephews were at the funeral (last weekend), and I don't see anybody missing from there," he said at his convenience store in Delta.

His wife, Manjeet Nandha, was found dead nearly two weeks ago in the Squamish area of Furry Creek, after their family restaurant franchise was destroyed by an early morning explosion and fire. Manjeet's car was found nearby in an apparent suicide.

"The police haven't talked to me, they've had no contact with me," he said. "It can't be true. There is no blood relation, not to my knowledge," he said.

Nandha asked the media to "let police do their work" and said that he was willing to answer any questions police may have for him.

When asked if he could imagine anyone that may want to harm his family, he said, "I've been in business for 17, 18 years. There is always someone that won't like you."

He confirmed there was a suicide note from his wife Manjeet. Earlier reports suggested the media scrutiny and stress were too much for her to bear.

Surrounding businesses were heavily damaged in the early morning explosion, including a Starbucks coffee shop, a clothing store and a dollar store. The force of the blast caused shattered glass and twisted metal strewn across the street and down the block.

Police determined the fire was deliberately set with an accelerant and later found a suspect in hospital, with 40 per cent of his body burned. He had used taxi cabs to escape the scene of the crime, which were later used to gather video images and evidence.
