The common-law husband of a woman found dead in a North Vancouver park this month has been arrested and charged in her murder.

Jennifer Ferguson's body was found wrapped in plastic in a wooded area of Kirkstone Park, just south of Lynn Valley Road, on Feb. 2.

Her 48-year-old boyfriend, Harvey Frank Bracken, has now been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death.

Police say that they focused their investigation on Bracken immediately after Ferguson's body was identified. They used surveillance, including a police helicopter, to secure evidence against the Surrey resident.

Ferguson was reported missing to Surrey RCMP on Jan. 30, and was last seen by her family eight days prior. She was not known to police.

Investigators have not released the cause of death, but believe Ferguson was murdered at another location and moved to the park.

Ferguson was the mother of three children between the ages of 16 and 21.
