The owner of the Taco del Mar restaurant destroyed in an arson attack has been found dead.

The body of Manjeet Nandha was found in Howe Sound on Friday. A police source confirms Nandha jumped off a cliff. A suicide note was found, saying the suspicion surrounding her family was too much for her to bear.

The restaurant was destroyed at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday when an arsonist lit an accelerant and blew up the franchise. The explosion destroyed a neighbouring Starbucks coffee shop, and caused severe damage to surrounding businesses including a clothing shop and a dollar store.

Police questioned Nandha after the incident but never stated her or her husband were suspects.

Nandha was reported missing on Thursday night, and her car was found on Friday morning.

After the restaurant was destroyed, Nandha spoke to CTV News that evening.

Nandha said she has "no idea" who would target her restaurant, and said she was "very shaken up" after the incident.

There was approximately two million dollars worth of damage done to the area.

She and her husband also owned a second Taco del Mar franchise in Delta. Both restaurants, as well as their family home, were up for sale.

The prime suspect in the attack is in hospital with burns to 40 per cent of his body. Police are expected to give more details about the case on Monday.
