Body found at UBC president’s property identified

Update: The body found on UBC property April 9 has been identified as Roderick Bruce Cortner, aged 66, of Vancouver. Police have ruled out foul play. 

Original Story: The RCMP is investigating after a body was found on University of British Columbia president Arvind Gupta’s property Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the home, located on campus near Northwest Marine Drive and University Boulevard, around 12:30 p.m. and found a dead male.

Few other details have been released but Cpl. Brenda Winpenny said the deceased has no relation to Gupta.
