Surrey police are looking for the owner of a collection of seven World War II medals and pins found during a seizure of stolen property a year ago.

The three Canadian-issued service medals and four Canadian military pins were found during an Aug. 22, 2009 search of a home in the 5800-block of King George Boulevard.

Stolen electronics, jewelry and guns were also taken during the search.

The medals are not inscribed, and Surrey RCMP would like to return them to their owner before Sunday, which will mark the 65th anniversary of Japan's unconditional surrender to Allied forces in 1945.

Anyone with information about the medals is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
