May 2021 update: Sheila Scott is no longer with CTV News Vancouver.

Sheila Scott joined CTV in 2011, after working as a radio anchor and reporter for News 1130 in Vancouver, and CFAX 1070 in her hometown of Victoria, B.C.

Initially hired as an overnight writer for the launch of CTV Morning Live, Sheila was soon hired to work as the station’s associate assignment editor. In her position she helps with investigative research and court matters, as well as assisting with editorial decisions around what stories CTV News Vancouver covers.

Sheila began reporting for CTV News Vancouver in 2013. Since then, she has covered breaking news and stories for all CTV platforms, including stories for CTV National News, CTV Morning Live, and live reporting from CTV’s Chopper 9. Some of her biggest assignments have included live fire coverage from BC’s record breaking 2017 wildfire season, and continuing coverage of the deadly gang violence that plagued Metro Vancouver streets in 2016.

Sheila’s main areas of interest are crime and criminal justice issues, as well as technology and the environment.

Outside of work, Sheila has volunteered with Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, and is continuing to further her education part-time at BCIT, where she is already a proud 2009 graduate of the Broadcast Journalism program.
