5 injured after multi-vehicle crash on Hwy. 99 between Surrey, Delta
Five people were hospitalized following a serious multi-vehicle crash that closed Highway 99 between Surrey and Delta during the Thursday evening rush hour.
Authorities said the collision happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Highway 91 interchange, snarling traffic in both directions.
B.C. Emergency Health Services said seven ground ambulances and one air ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and that paramedics transported two patients to hospital in critical condition.
Three other patients were taken away in stable condition.

Few other details about the crash have been confirmed, including the suspected cause or how many vehicles were involved.
Highway 99 had not reopened by 8 p.m. In a statement, the Surrey Police Service warned drivers the busy route would "likely be closed for a few hours" as firefighters assist with the emergency response and officers investigate the collision.
Police asked anyone with information – or dash-cam video captured on Highway 91 near the interchange at the time of the crash – to call them at 604-599-0502.
