Police have charged two suspects in connection with a brutal stabbing that took place outside a Denny’s restaurant in Vancouver Friday.

Richmond residents Casey James Hiscoe and Zi Hao “Ivan” Wang, both 18, have been charged with robbery and aggravated assault, Const. Brian Montague said in a news release.

Hiscoe has also been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A 21-year-old man was hospitalized after a group of masked men stabbed him outside the Denny’s location in the 600-block of Southwest Marine Friday afternoon.

Police said the victim had just walked out of the restaurant when he was attacked in the parking lot at around 4:30 p.m.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown, but police believe the incident was targeted.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from multiple serious stab wounds.

Hiscoe’s next court appearance is slated for Jan. 10. Wang appeared in provincial court Tuesday.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
