The Vancouver Whitecaps (2W-1L-1D) take on their NASL Conference rivals Baltimore Crystal Palace (0W-3L-0D) in USSF D-2 Pro League play Saturday night.

The Whitecaps come in off a 1-1 draw against the Montreal Impact in the opening match of the 2010 Nutrilite Canadian Championship.

Wednesday's draw against Montreal was salvaged by Marcus Haber's late penalty and allowed the home team to earn a point.

The Whitecaps are without a win in their last two games. The club wants to get back into the win column against Crystal Palace who play in the second division level for the 2010 season level for the first time.

Coach Teitur Thordarson, disappointed with his club's effort against Montreal, thinks Saturday's match up with Crystal Palace is a good opportunity for his team to put things back on track.

Meanwhile, this is the maiden visit for Baltimore to Vancouver. Vancouver presents familiar territory for centre back Shaun Pejic and midfielder Kenold Versailles, who both wore the blue and white for Vancouver in 2009.

The Baltimore club also has USL First division experience from goalkeeper Chase Harrison, defender Takuro Nishimura, midfielder Santiago Fusilier and striker Randi Patterson.

Kick off is at 7 p.m. PST at Swangard Stadium.

Notes: Whitecaps defender/midfielder Blake Wagner is sidelined with a foot strain, while winger Nizar Khalfan continues to struggle with quadriceps muscle problems. Mouloud Akloul is out for at least four months after undergoing ankle surgery.

Cyrstal Palace will be without defender/midfielder Zack Flores who is still recovering from a pre-season broken jaw.
