The victim of Richmond's first homicide of the year has been identified as 23-year-old Johannes Foo.

Foo was a Richmond resident and the reason for his death is unknown, according to police.

Police have not released the cause of death or initial findings of the investigation.

“Evidence gathered thus far suggests that this homicide was not a random act,” said the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team's Sgt. Bari Emam.

Police are looking for information from anyone who was around Steveston Highway on Monday between No. 3 and No. 4 Roads between 3 to 4 p.m.
