The deaths of two Vanderhoof residents whose bodies were discovered in a mobile home last weekend are now considered homicides, Mounties confirmed Wednesday.

Blaine Albert Barfoot, 29, and Tara Lee Ann Williams, 40, were found dead at a home on Silvermill Road Sunday under suspicious circumstances.

Mounties have not said how long the bodies may have been in the home, or revealed any details about their cause of death.

No suspects have been identified, but Const. Lesley Smith issued a statement suggesting the persons or persons responsible may have been hurt during an altercation.

“The police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying anyone who may have a recent injury to their arms or hands,” Smith said. “We believe the injury may have occurred during this incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment at 250-567-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if they wish to remain anonymous.
