Vancouver police say suspicious device found downtown not explosive

A suspicious device located by Vancouver police in a downtown vehicle Wednesday morning is not explosive, officers say.
Traffic was being diverted at Beatty Street near Dunsmuir Street after a possible explosive device was found inside a truck after a traffic stop.
The VPD Emergency Response Team and the Explosive Disposal Unit were at the scene, and determined the object was not an explosive device.
Traffic in the area has been reopened.
