KELOWNA, B.C. - UBC's Kelowna campus is quiet today after the discovery of two suspicious pipes Friday resulted in part of the campus being evacuated.

Kelowna RCMP say an explosive destruction unit from the Lower Mainland came in and destroyed the two items, which ended up to be pipes filled with sand.

The items were described as PVC pipes approximately 30 centimetres in length and seven centimetres in diameter. The ends of the pipes were sealed with caps.

Mounties continue to investigate the incident.
