Two B.C. men wanted in connection to a violent kidnapping near Prince George have turned themselves in to police.
Twenty-four-year-old Francois Christiaan Meerholz and 22-year-old Dillan Meerholz surrendered at the Prince George RCMP detachment late Tuesday night after investigators made a public plea for help in finding the two suspects.
The Meerholzes, along with two other men, are accused of kidnapping and assaulting a male victim over a number of days in a home in the rural Ferndale area. The victim was taken to hospital Sunday after suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries in the ordeal.
When police searched the home, they say they also discovered a small marijuana grow-op and stolen property. Mounties believe the abduction was targeted and drug-related, and say all four suspects are known to police.
Charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, possession of property obtained by crime and production of a controlled substance are being recommended.
