A 28-year-old Vancouver man has been charged with two counts of arson in connection with a string of fires in Vancouver’s downtown core.

Three fires were deliberately set in the washrooms of local businesses, including a Subway restaurant, between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Each fire was put out quickly, but police said the blazes could have been much worse.

Two more businesses came forward to report similar incidents on July 24 and 26th after police went public about Sunday’s fires.

Cameron James Fraser is set to make his first court appearance Friday. He has no criminal record.
