Burnaby RCMP have issued an appeal to the public for more information about a possible attempted abduction of an 18-month-old baby this weekend.

The force said it received a report of a “suspicious circumstance that may have been an attempted abduction” at the Lougheed Town Centre Skytrain Station on Sunday around 4:30 p.m.

The toddler was not injured and the suspect fled on foot.

The alleged suspect is described as a 45-year-old man with a dark complexion and thin build. He was wearing a dark rain jacket with a tear in the back, dark jeans and black boots. He was last seen boots at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Government Street.

The force says investigators are looking for more information to identify the suspect and confirm what actually happened.
