An avalanche struck outside Whistler on Wednesday but two snowmobilers in the area were apparently unharmed.

The slide hit on Brandywine Mountain, a hill located about 25 kilometres outside Whistler Village.

One man was briefly buried but his fellow snowmobiler managed to pull him out.

Avalanche Canada warns there is considerable avalanche danger in the Sea-to-Sky region due to a weak layer buried under the snow.

Anyone venturing into the area over the next several days is urged to make conservative terrain choices.
