The reporter who wrote a story about abuse allegations against former Vancouver Olympics chief John Furlong says she's filing a countersuit against him.

Laura Robinson says Furlong intentionally misinformed the public by saying that she didn't research her story properly, and has a vendetta against him.

Robinson says she repeatedly tried to contact Furlong about allegations made by students at a Roman Catholic school in Burns Lake where Furlong taught phys-ed in the late 1960s and early 70s.

She says a publicist answered just one of her emails and that Furlong screamed at her in April 2001 when she asked him about the student's allegations of physical and mental abuse.

Furlong categorically denies the allegations and said he'd be taking legal action against the newspaper and reporter.
