Mounties believe two drive-by shootings committed in separate residential areas of Richmond Monday night are connected.

The first shots were fired at a home in the 3600-block of Williams Road around 10:30 p.m., and gunfire rang out again on Bamfield Drive less than an hour later.

“It is our belief the shootings were targeted,” Cpl. Stephanie Ashton said in a statement. “This was not a random act.”

No one was injured in either incident.

Few details have been released but the Richmond Serious Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate and officers are canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Richmond RCMP detachment by email or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
