Police forces across Western Canada are on the hunt for a man suspected in a string of armed bank robberies that took place in several cities.

The prolific crime spree began at a bank in Princeton, B.C. on Dec. 1., and since then, the same suspect is believed to have robbed seven more banks.

The suspect is also accused of robbing banks in Merritt, Vernon, Aldergrove, several towns in Alberta, and Swift Current, Sask.

“In all robberies, a weapon was involved, either being produced or mentioned,” said B.C. RCMP spokesman Const. Kris Clark. “In all instances, the suspect exited the financial institution with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.”

The suspect is described as a bearded, slim man between 25 and 35 years old, and typically dressed in a toque, sunglasses and gloves.

Metro Vancouver police forces have also become involved in the investigation after the heist in Aldergrove.

Clark said no one has been injured in the robberies.
