CFL legend Micheal "Pinball" Clemons will be getting his coveted Grey Cup ring back.

A fan left Friday’s BC Lions game with the ring after Clemons tossed it into the stands from the sidelines at BC Place so fans could take a picture with it.

It was reported stolen and the Argonauts asked fans via Twitter to be on the lookout for the ring.

Nanaimo RCMP Cst. Gary O'Brien said in a release Saturday night that a 30-year-old woman turned the ring into police.

"She feels absolutely terrible about the situation and told the officer she wants Mr. Clemons to know she had no intention of  keeping it and just wanted to do the right thing by turning it in,"  O'Brien said.

The woman called the whole incident a misunderstanding and told police she was waiting for BC Place security to get the ring but no one came.

The Argonauts took to Twitter on Sunday, saying, "We would sincerely like to thank everyone for their concern regarding the whereabouts of Pinball's 100th Grey Cup Ring. We would like to thank the efforts of BC Place security, the fans, and genuinely like to thank the young woman who contacted the RCMP and turned in the ring."

Clemons is now the vice-chair of the Toronto Argonauts. He is a former Argos player and coach and has won four Grey Cups with the team.
