Pedestrian wearing earbuds killed by train in Chilliwack

A pedestrian died after being hit by a train in Chilliwack Sunday morning.

According to Chilliwack RCMP Sgt. Chris Riffel, CN police advised RCMP that a pedestrian was struck by a train on the tracks near Eagle Landing Parkway at about 10:30 a.m.

The victim was wearing earbuds at the time.

Despite the efforts of emergency crews, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Riffel said.

The victim’s identity has not been released and police are attempting to contact the next of kin.
