The New Westminster Police Department has dismissed an officer with eight years of service to the force, the department announced Monday.
The decision to fire the officer came after an internal theft investigation, police said.
Police have not identified the officer, who they said will “continue to face both Police Act and Criminal Code allegations related to other matters.”
The department said the matter is still under adjudication, and it cannot provide additional details at this time.
