VANCOUVER - Charges have been laid against a Vancouver woman 18 months after one pedestrian was killed at a crosswalk and another suffered serious injuries.

Police say 33-year-old Nansi Morris-Jones has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm in connection with the incident in November 2012.

A 19-year-old woman died at the scene and a 21-year-old man was seriously hurt when they were struck by an SUV.

Police say an investigation has revealed that the driver was allegedly speeding, ran a red light and went through the intersection before hitting the pedestrians.

Morris-Jones is scheduled for her next court appearance on May 13.
