North Vancouver RCMP are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a 55-year-old woman Saturday.
Police say the woman was struck by a van at Chesterfield Avenue and 15th Street just after 6 p.m.
The van was turning east onto 15th Street when it struck the woman in a crosswalk, and it left the scene without stopping, according to witnesses.
The vehicle is described as an older model, dark-coloured Caravan that may have sustained front-end damage.
Witnesses reportedly came to the aid of the woman, who was rushed to Lions Gate Hospital.
Police are searching for any witnesses or those who can help identify the van.
