Mounties in Surrey are searching for witnesses after a man bleeding from his neck tried to get in a taxi early Wednesday.

Police received a 911 call at around 1:50 a.m. that a man bleeding from his neck “quite badly” was trying to board a cab in the 7400-block of 121A Street.

The man began walking away from the taxi when officers arrived, according to police. He was found a short distance away and rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the man is giving few details about what happened to him and is not fully cooperating with them.

Surrey RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the incident that injured the man’s neck or those who saw him near 121A Street to call investigators at 604-599-0502
