Vancouver police have tracked down and arrested a 33-year-old man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.

Const. Brian Montague said Bobby Tajinder Gill tried to flee after officers found him in New Westminster on Wednesday, but he was caught with the help of a police dog.

Gill is being held in custody pending his next court appearance.

Earlier this month, police issued a public warning that Gill has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.

He was wanted on warrants for causing a police pursuit, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and breach of a court order.
