The alleged serial bank robber that has eluded police in three provinces since Dec. 1 has struck again, this time in Dawson Creek.

Dawson Creek RCMP said the lone male entered a local bank just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, showed a gun and demanded cash.

The description of the man and a surveillance photo are consistent with the suspect in eight other bank robberies that have taken place across Western Canada over the last two months.

The prolific crime spree began at a bank in Princeton, B.C. on Dec. 1., and since then, the same suspect is believed to have robbed seven more banks.

The suspect is also accused of robbing banks in Merritt, Vernon, Aldergrove, several towns in Alberta, and Swift Current, Sask.

“In all robberies, a weapon was involved, either being produced or mentioned,” said B.C. RCMP spokesman Const. Kris Clark after the Aldergrove incident. “In all instances, the suspect exited the financial institution with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.”

The suspect is described as a bearded, slim man between 25 and 35 years old, and typically dressed in a toque, sunglasses and gloves.

Metro Vancouver police forces have also become involved in the investigation after the heist in Aldergrove.

Clark said no one has been injured in the robberies, but he cautioned the public against trying to engage with the suspect because each of the robberies have involved a weapon being either shown or mentioned.
