A police takedown of a biker in south Vancouver was caught on camera and posted on social media.
The takedown occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday, according to the time stamp on the surveillance camera footage. The footage was then uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday by user Kevin Boisvert.
Police told CTV News that the video showed the arrest of a man who had previously refused to pull over.
Officers said he was spotted driving erratically further north, and was seen dodging in and out of traffic. They said his motorcycle narrowly missed striking pedestrians, and that he'd been seen speeding past playgrounds and through stop signs.
Eventually officers caught up with a suspect in a parking lot, and tackled him to the ground as soon as he got off his bike. The video shows the man being pushed to the ground and held down by an officer's knee, as the other puts him in handcuffs.
When asked about the incident, a police spokesperson said they never use force if a suspect is compliant.
