A gas smell at the University of British Columbia campus has forced the evacuation of three buildings.

Firefighters were dispatched to the area of Main Mall and Agronomy Road shortly after 11 a.m. Monday with reports of a strong smell outdoors.

The university confirmed the Institute for Computing, Information and Cognitive Systems building was evacuated as a precaution, as were two others nearby.
