Police believe a 54-year-old woman who was reported missing late last week may be on the road with a murder suspect, and they’re concerned about her safety.

Surrey, B.C. resident Kyonghee Kim was last heard from on Oct. 4, the day before Youngku Youn's ex-wife was found dead inside a washroom at a Burnaby strip mall.

Youn, 60, is the sole suspect in the killing.

On Tuesday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team revealed they believe Kim and Youn to be in a romantic relationship, and that the couple is potentially travelling together.

"We don't know what role she's played in this. What we know at this point is we believe her to be in danger," Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound said. "We need to locate her."

Investigators don't think Kim had any part in the murder of Youn's ex-wife, 59-year-old Hee Sook Youn. They do believe she was contacted by the suspect around the same time the body was discovered last Wednesday morning.

Kim's vehicle was then spotted travelling over the Golden Ears Bridge about an hour later.

Mounties said the vehicle, a grey 2012 Hyundai Sonata, was found empty in Golden Ears Provincial Park in Maple Ridge on Saturday.

An extensive foot, vehicle and ATV search of the park was conducted by members of IHIT and several RCMP detachments, as well as the Police Dog Service, but Youn and Kim have yet to be located.

Kim's family said it's not like her to be out of touch for so long, and they're concerned for her health and well-being.

She is described as Korean, 5-3 tall, 115 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes, while Youn is 5-4 tall, 143 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who spots either of them is asked to call 911 immediately.
