BC Hydro crews have restored power to more than 50,000 customers following a widespread outage in the Fraser Valley on Wednesday afternoon.
The utility provider said there was a massive transmission outage that affected the majority of the Fraser Valley, including parts of Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Hope.
More than 55,000 hydro customers were impacted at the height of the outage.
BC Hydro said crews managed to switch customers to other circuits and restore power by 4 p.m., a couple of hours after it went down.
