A 61-year-old convicted sex offender is back in custody after allegedly assaulting a 38-year-old man in his Maple Ridge home.
Richard Elbertson Richardson was arrested Friday and charged with counts of sexual assault and failure to abide by his probation order in connection with an alleged attack earlier this month.
The suspect, who was jailed in March 2010, was under bail conditions forbidding him from renting out rooms in his home without informing tenants of his criminal record.
RCMP said in 2010 they believe that Richardson rides local buses to meet young men and gives them his contact information.
Richardson appeared in Port Coquitlam provincial court on Friday where he was remanded in custody until Tuesday.
