Man perishes in Metro Vancouver house fire

Mounties are investigating a fatal house fire in Richmond early Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at a home on Riverdale Drive around 12:30 a.m. 

Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire, but later discovered the body of a man who had been trapped inside the home. 

The identity of the man and the cause of the fire have not yet been released. 

An investigation is ongoing.
