Police are investigating after a man was shot in broad daylight Monday in North Delta.

Officers found the 25-year-old victim wounded after responding to a report of shots fired near Scott Road and 92 Avenue around 11:15 a.m.

Authorities haven't confirmed how many times the man was shot, but said his injuries were inflicted to his lower body, and they are not believed to be life-threatening.

The circumstances that led up to the shooting haven't been confirmed, as the victim has not been cooperating, but police said it was targeted.

No arrests have been made but a suspect vehicle, described as a dark import, was seen fleeing the area northbound on 120 Street.

Those northbound lanes were temporarily closed to traffic Monday morning while police examined the scene and canvassed for witnesses.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Delta police at 604-946-4411, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS to remain anonymous.
