Police have identified the victim and suspect of a New Year’s Eve homicide in Langley, IHIT announced Wednesday.

Forty-year-old Cole Adam Manning was allegedly killed in a home in the 19800-block of 69th Avenue early Monday morning.

The 24-year-old suspect, Jason Terrance Brewer, was arrested in Aldergrove after a brief vehicle chase and charged with second-degree murder, according to police.

Police said Brewer is known to them.

“The victim and suspect are believed to be friends, however, IHIT investigators continue to explore the motive for this homicide.  At this point we can say this is not gang related,” said Sgt. Jennifer Pound in a statement.

Police have not released any information on the cause of death.
