Indigo Kids has unveiled its top 10 kids toys for the holiday seasonand the focus is on imagination and creativity.  Steele on Your Side lined up a couple of pint-sized toy testers to find out if they meet the mark.

Seven-year-old Gracie loves puzzles and wants her two front teeth for Christmas. She's teaming up with six-year-old Luke, a Lego fan who hopes Santa brings him a pogo stick.

Consumer Reporter Lynda Steele asked them to rate three toys each on a scale of one to five candy canes, five being the best.

First up, was Zoomer Dino, a remote control T-Rex that spins, roars, rolls around and flashes its eyes. On  a scale of one to five candy canes, Luke gives Zoomer Dino a six.

Gracie tested an indoor play sand set called Sands Alive. It feels like cookie dough, but is dry to the touch and moldable. She gave the Sands Alive, Play and Go Travel Kit 300 candy canes out of five.

Next up, was a working garbage truck complete with blue bins. The Bruder side loading garbage truck is geared for kids ages 3 and up. Luke was not overly impressed and gave the truck two candy canes out of five.

Gracie also tested Fashion Plates, which lets aspiring designers create their own looks. She gave the deluxe kit an enthusiastic six candy canes.

Luke checked out the KidKraft Deluxe Fire Rescue Set complete with rescue helicopter and gave it a three out of five candy canes.

And finally, Gracie was absorbed with a creative building toy called the Roominate Studio. The kit encourages kids to build their own rooms, complete with furniture and even wiring to power fans. She gave Roominate a four out of five.

“You want them to be engaged, you want it to be something they can use each and every day and will spark something new, no matter what day it is or what time of the year,” said Mary Lynn Hanson, Indigo marketing manager.
