Forensic identification teams returned to a Prince George, B.C., gravel pit at first light this morning after a gruesome discovery of a body in a gravel pit.

Prince George RCMP members were alerted to the Otway gravel pit area, just on the outskirts of the city, Tuesday afternoon. The Serious Crimes Unit, and forensic teams, worked until nightfall at the site.

The body has not been identified and it is not known if the victim is a man or woman. The incident is being treated as suspicious.

Mounties are asking anyone to call police if they have noticed suspicious activity or vehicles in the area in the last 10 days.
