KEREMEOS, B.C. - A wildfire that shut down a highway in British Columbia's southern Interior is now under control.
The B.C. Wildfire Service says the fire west of Keremeos grew to about 1.5 hectares in size.
The service sent three firefighters to assist local crews.
Fire information officer Kelsey Winter says the blaze is under investigation but is believed to be human-caused.
Highway 3 was closed in both directions about eight kilometres west of Keremeos. At 1:40 p.m., Drive BC tweeted that one lane of the highway had been reopened for alternating one-way traffic, and that delays were expected. At 3:30 p.m., the highway was fully reopened:
