VANCOUVER - The former CEO of a company that provides catering services to sports venues across North America has pleaded guilty after he was videotaped in a Vancouver elevator abusing a dog.
Desmond Hague, who resigned from Centerplate Inc. last year, pleaded guilty to one count of causing an animal to be in distress.
Hague made headlines last summer when a video surfaced that showed him kicking a young Doberman pinscher in the elevator of downtown Vancouver hotel.
Hague left his job, apologized to the dog's owners and issued a public statement saying he was deeply embarrassed by his actions.
Centerplate provides catering services to venues including BC Place, home of the CFL's BC Lions.
Hague's next court appearance is set for April.
