Vancouver’s mild holiday weather has translated to a hole-in-one for golfers.

Three city-run golf courses – Fraserview, Langara and McCleery -- will be open on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone that wants to hit the links.

The Vancouver Park Board says it’s the second year in a row the “championship” courses will be open on Dec. 25. For the remainder of the holidays the courses will be open from dawn until dusk.

“Golfers in Vancouver can brag to family and friends in colder and snowier parts of Canada about how they golfed on Christmas Day,” a message on its webpage reads.

Although the city’s three pitch and putt courses are officially closed, city officials say golf enthusiasts are welcome to hit balls on any of the greens, as long as they bring their own clubs.

A mix of sun and cloud is forecast for Vancouver on Christmas Day, with highs reaching six degrees. B.C.’s Interior, however, is pacing for a white Christmas. Up to 25 centimeters of snow are forecast in some areas, and the Elk Valley and Yoho are under a snowfall warning.
