There's some good news for residents who were forced to evacuate about 100 properties near the Bear Creek wildfire on the west side of Okanagan Lake.

The Central Okanagan Regional District says the evacuation order has been lifted.

In a release, the regional district says all the evacuation alerts have also been rescinded and traffic is moving again on Westside Road.

The B.C. Wildfire Service says the nearly 53-hectare blaze, which broke out Sunday about 10 kilometres north of West Kelowna, is now 85 per cent contained.
