Residents in the Fraser Valley were woken early Saturday morning by a magnitude 2.6 earthquake.

The US Geological Survey confirmed the quake hit just after 4:30 a.m. five kilometres east of Mission.

Residents told CTV News they were woken by the shaking, but there are no reports of any damage.

“Too close for comfort,” wrote Twitter user Tasha. “Woke me from a deep sleep.”

This is the second earthquake to hit the region this week. On Thursday a magnitude 2.4 quake was recorded in the same area.
