A neighbour of Robert Dziekanski's back in Poland says he was excited to come to Canada, the land of `milk and honey.'

But hours after arriving in his new country, Dziekanski was confronted by the RCMP at Vancouver's airport, stunned with a Taser and died.

Magda Czelwinska told a public inquiry into his death that she lived a few blocks from Dziekanski and saw him often.

Czelwinska says he was excited to move to Kamloops, B.C., and live with his mother and was even trying to quit smoking for her.

Another neighbour told the inquiry that Dziekanksi had a fear of flying, but Czelwinska says the only fear he ever told her about was not being able to fit all of his books about Canada in his luggage.

Czelwinska says Dziekanski didn't have a full-time job but would perform odd jobs for people, and also received money from his mother.
