The no!no! hair removal system promises to remove unwanted hair without waxing, shaving or burns, but does it really work?

The no!no!, which retails for $249.95, is advertised as a pain-free hair removal treatment that can be performed in the comfort of your own home.

Steele on Your Side put the device to the test in its latest “As Seen on TV” product testing segment.

The no!no! uses a patented thermodynamic wire to gently burn the hair away. The makers of no!no! admit it's not a miracle cure, but claim that with extended use, the hair that grows back is supposed to be finer and thinner.

CTV audio engineer Lorin Schultz volunteered to try the no!no! out on his head stubble. Consumer reporter Lynda Steele also enlisted the help of hairy-legged reporter Jon Woodward. And the no!no! got a workout from Ottawa consumer reporter Michael O'Byrne.

"I've got a lot of hair on my upper arms and that's what I'm trying to get rid of," said O’Byrne.

The no!no! needs to be used for an extended period of time to get results, so the CTV colleagues endured a weekly session of hair removal, with mixed success.

"There was definitely an impact. I don't know if it's the miracle cure though for hair that it pretends to be, but it certainly made a difference," said Jon Woodward.

O’Byrne was totally sold.

"After four-and-a-half weeks, it is in fact, really working," he said.

But Schultz wasn't so enthused.

“I don't think it’s working because the hair is continuing to get longer in spite of using the no!no!" said Schultz.

After several weeks of testing, we give the no!no! 3.5 stars out of 5.

Based on the CTV testing, it would appear the no!no! works best on a relatively smooth surface like a leg or arm. Despite the no!no! commercial which shows a woman using it on her face, the user manual says the device is not to be used on the face, breasts or genitals.

The no!no! does have a good return policy. If you don’t love your no!no! after using it for at least 45 days, but no more than 60 days, you can return it for a full refund and get your shipping and handling refunded as well.
