A long-time Dhak gang associate who was released on bail is back in custody after being caught with drugs, guns and $120,000 cash, according to police.

Ryan Gregory Milliard was allegedly found living in Vancouver's west side last week, despite a court order forcing him to reside in Surrey.

Officers from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit raided the home, and seized several ounces of cocaine, marijuana, cash and two semi-automatic pistols – both loaded.

“This arrest will have a significant impact on the Dhak crime group and will assist greatly in the disruption of their ongoing criminal activity,” said Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, spokesman for the CFSEU.

The 29-year-old gang associate faces eight new criminal counts, including:

  • possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon with ammunition
  • two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon without a licence
  • two counts of breach of undertaking or recognizance
  • possession of a firearm contrary to order

Milliard is being held in custody pending his next court appearance on Wednesday in New Westminster.

He was arrested in 2008 along with eight other gangsters and gang-associates as part of a massive multi-jurisdictional drug bust dubbed Project Gateway.

High-profile gangster Sukh Dhak was also arrested and released, only to be fatally gunned down last November in a Burnaby hotel lobby.

Experts believe the hit may have been a response to the August 2011 slaying of Jonathan Bacon, of the notorious Bacon brothers, in Kelowna.

Three alleged gang associates were arrested in connection with Bacon’s slaying in February.

Jujhar Khun Khun, Jason McBride and Mike Jones are all charged with first-degree murder, as well as four counts each of attempted murder in the case.
