CTV British Columbia is inviting you to get even closer to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

We have brought you along for every step as the Olympic torch made its way across Canada. And now that the Olympic flame is in Vancouver and the Opening Ceremony is less than a day away, we're moving our set outside to Robson Street into the heart of the celebration.

Starting on Thursday, we'll be broadcasting live from an outdoor set in downtown Vancouver. Thousands will tune in as Canada competes to win its first medal on home soil and CTV is also inviting you to participate by creating a newscast of your own.

From Friday until February 28, you can take a seat at the anchor's desk to read an actual Olympic broadcast. The newscast will be uploaded to the CTV BC website, ctvbc.ca, free of charge for you to share with friends and family.

The live outdoor set will be open every day from noon until midnight with newscasts delivered in the afternoon and at 11 p.m. CTV Vancouver's 2010 coverage will conclude each night with a one-hour newscast seen across the country.

Anchored by CTV BC's lead news team of Bill Good and Pamela Martin, the broadcast will deliver news to Canada with a distinctly local perspective.

Visit our atrium in the CTV BC studios at 750 Burrard St. as it becomes a destination for avid pin collectors and traders. The hottest collectibles of the Games will be available at the Believe store, also located in the atrium, where fans of the Olympics can purchase special-edition winter wear. Finally, anyone wanting to know more about the Cultural Olympiad can also find information at this location.

Also at the atrium, pose for a picture as if you were standing at the site of the half pipe competitive site, at the award-winning Richmond Olympic Oval or on the slopes of the Dave Murray Downhill course at Whistler. The magic of a green screen puts you at these and many other Olympic competition sites.

Throughout the 17-days of the Winter Olympics, be sure to keep your eye out for the CTV Believe Street team who will be handing out prizes.

CTV BC is committed to being the province's home for news about the 2010 Games—be it Olympic parties or protests. With the greatest capacity for live coverage in the province and Western Canada, including Chopper 9, the country's first live news helicopter, CTV aims to bring you news as it happens, whenever it happens.

CTV is the official broadcaster of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the London 2010 Games.
